Referrals
Checking your hospital appointment
Once our GP practice has referred you to a specialist for further care, it may take a few weeks before you hear from the hospital. You can check that our practice has sent the referral by looking at your medical records using Online Services.
We will send you a letter or text within two weeks explaining how to book yourself an appointment using the NHS e-Referral Service and any passwords you may need.
You can check the progress of your referral:
- by ringing the hospital appointment line – 01274 274274 (for BRI and St. Luke’s)
- using the e-referral service if you still have the booking reference number.
To track your e-Referral using the e-referral service you will need the following details to log into the e-Referral website:
- Your date of birth
- Reference number – this will be on the first page of your letter
- Password – this will be on the second page of your letter
Follow-up appointments
Once you have been seen by a specialist, they may need to see you again and inform you that they will arrange a follow-up appointment.
If you have not heard about your follow-up appointment at BRI or St. Luke’s, please ring their hospital appointment line on 01274 274274.
